1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!'
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you! Reminisce away...

I too dad used to look forward to your trips to Utah. I could never wait. I remember feeling so bad that you had to stay in a different dorm room than I when you came to visit. I wanted to give you a place to sleep. Even when I was married with kids I was sooo excited to see you and mom coming. It was always the highlight every 4 months and always very sad when yall had to leave.
Growing up, I remember when I was in the sixth grade or so and you taking me to work with you. I would visit all the businesses with you and collect the cards and brochures from the front desk. I thought that was so fun. Then when you worked at Fowler and I helped out at your office...and of course eating out lunch and taking naps on the side of the road and listening to Vince Gill with you and mom on my way to work. I think you have shared your love for music with all of us and your good sense of humor of course!
Love you too!
Also, for some reason, I remember you taking me shopping to buy my first bra. You kept making jokes that I should look in the training section! Ha.
I loved it when, not that long ago, you came to see us at our house while you were working down here. You brought Gracie her unicorn backpack with all sorts of goodies inside. I don't know why, but I just thought it was SO precious- picturing you at Target picking out just the right things that you knew she would like. Of course, she loved it, and still plays with the backpack all the time...and whenever she sees Rainbow goldfish, she talks about how Papa brought her some and they ate them together. That was just a really sweet Papa/Gracie moment for me. Love you!!
Of course, I'm crying. You know me. Like you said there are so many. I mean in a few weeks we'll have been married 40 years, so we've been together a long time. I sometimes wonder if we look alike now?! I've heard people look like their dogs and that spouses adopt that look too. :-)
Anyway, if I have to name just one...I remember and treasure the time we were so down and out because of unemployment and worries so overwhelming that I frequently felt I was going to lose my mind. You were tender with me and said we could get through it and as long as you had me and the kids you could get through anything. I was moved by that and felt blessed that you were the kind of guy that felt that way about his family rather than heap blame on me for having a housefull of hungry kids!
I'll always love you!
Oh Papa, you are such a funny man and I have so many memories! I would have to say one of my favorite memories of you happened not too long ago when I was over helping prepare for the party. I was outside helping Meggy straighten the backyard, and you reminded me of the story of Tom Sawyer as I scooped all the doggy poop while meggy cleaned the patio. :D You have always had the best sense of humor!
BTW - I had forgotten about the truck incident until you left it on my blog. We had such a blast sliding down the mountain on our rear ends in the snow! Thanks for hauling us around everywhere while you were there!
Dearest Papa,
You have always seemed to me to be the best grandfather in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. I have SOOO many wonderful memories of my Papa.
The memory that ALWAYS pops into my head first when I think of you is that time when you and Mimi came to visit us in Holtville, California. You drove your little VW then. I think it was 6 or 7 years ago. Anyways, you had decided to take all of us kids out an a little date with Papa. We all piled into your little car and you drove us to the grocery store. You let us throw anything and everything we wanted into the grocery cart. We bought so many boxes of cereal, donuts, ice cream, dr peppers, popsicles.... We were all SOOOO, SOOOO happy! On the way home, you opened your moon roof and played the "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" CD and taught us how to sing "On the Highways, In the Hidges". That night we watched the movie. I never quit smiling the entire time you guys stayed with us!
I love you so much, Papa. I'm so blessed and happy to be your granddaughter. :) Love, Laurabug
Well let me count the memories Dad!!!! The ones that I remember the most were our times working outside together. Whether it was yard work, painting the shutters, or painting the pool, I just remember that it always ended up just being me and you out there! Some how everyone else pooped out on us, but those were some of my favorite times with you b/c it was just you and me.
I never minded the yard work and I now that I think about it, I obviously got that from you! Love you!
One of my favorite things in the world is to see Papa and Randy laughing so hard that they are completely red and can't breath. I love to see Randy happy with his family, and Papa is a big part of that. I also love to watch how much the kids love their Papa.
